Types of Aid

There are three primary types of financial aid:

  1. Gifts, which is also known as gift aid, often represented by scholarships and grants;
  2. Loans, representing an obligation to repay (with interest) funds borrowed for educational expenses;
  3. Employment, representing work opportunities where earnings are used towards educational expenses.

Financing, while not necessarily a type of financial aid, represents unique options to consider in covering educational expenses.
