Federal student loan borrowers who graduate and/or cease at least half-time enrollment are required to complete federally mandated “loan exit counseling.” This requirement is completed on-line (refer to links below) and provides borrowers with information on the following:
- possibility of delaying repayment via either deferment or forbearance;
- various repayment options available;
- consequences of having loans placed in a status of delinquency or default
For the following Federal Direct Loans:
- Subsidized Direct Loan
- Unsubsidized Direct Loan
- Graduate PLUS Direct Loan
